HP Servers on ESX/ESXi 4.1 with Automatic Power disabled in BIOS power on automatically when power cord is connected

Symptoms

  • HP Servers on ESX/ESXi 4.1 with the Automatic Power On option disabled in BIOS automatically power on when the power cable is connected
  • You experience this issue when using HP Servers DL380 G5 / G6 / G7 & DL360 G7
  • This issue occurs only in ESX/ESXi 4.1 hosts and not in ESX/ESXi 3.5 and 4.0 hosts

Resolution

This issue is resolved in ESX/ESXi 4.1 Update 2.
