MAC and IP address conflict in a virtual machine

Any IP address set in the LAN for this virtual machine complains that there is an IP address conflict for a particular MAC address
This MAC address is different from the entry in the .vmx file of the virtual machine
The MAC address is actually one of the NICs in the blade center trunk switch
