Purpose
Resolution
To change the default log location from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Log to a different directory (for example, D:\VCenterLogs):
- Stop the VirtualCenter Server service and VMware VirtualCenter Management Webservcies services. For more information, see Stopping, starting, or restarting vCenter services (1003895).
- Back up the vpxd.cfg file. By defualt, the file is located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\vpxd.cfg.
- Open the vpxd.cfg file using a text editor.
- Add this entry within the
and tags:
[Prefered directory]
Where [Prefered directory] is the directory within which you want to save the logs.
For example:
D:\VCenterLogs - Save the vpxd.cfg file.
