The vCenter Server Hardware Status tab reports an Unknown status for the power supply of the VMware-certified server

Symptoms

In the vCenter Server Hardware Status tab, the power supply information appears as Unknown, when using hardware that has been certified by VMware, according to the HCL

Note: To view the hardware status information, in vCenter Server, click the Configuration tab and then click System Status within the Hardware section.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware ESXi 4.1.x and 5.0, ESX 4.1.x, and vCenter Server 4.1.x and 5.0. Currently, there is no workaround.
